Ensenada
Honzon 2000

Photos by Don Ross

My partner, Michael, and I celebrated our fifth anniversary at our favorite hotel south of the border, the Estero Beach Resort, just south of Ensenada, in Baja California, overlooking the estero [estuary] leading into the Bahia de los Todos Santos [Bay of All Saints]. The peninisula in the background in the sunset shot is Punta Banda. All three photos are taken from the balcony of our room.

It is a humorous quirk of fate, that this, my longest lasting, steady relationship would have begun on such auspicious days as Hallowe'en [All Hallow's Eve] through Dia de los Muertos [Day of the Dead]. Thus for the past three out of five years, we have been drawn south of the Mexican border to celebrate these special days.
