Year of the Snake [2001-4699]

Outside the Buddha Hall at Hsi-fang Temple

My second visit to Hsi Fang, the San Diego Buddhist Association just a few blocks from my home, took place the following week on 02/04/2001 for their Chinese New Year Celebration and Open House. Amida Buddha is portrayed on the front of this temple in the beautiful University Heights neighborhood [near Hillcrest]. It was a lovely winter day in the high 70s! As I approached, youth could be seen outside the temple in their lion costume.
